The 2026 MLB season is just a few short days away, and there is a lot of hype surrounding it. Rankings, predictions, and last-minute roster updates are flooding the internet from just about every sports news publication. The question is, how many of those predictions are going to be right once the calendar hits October?

In their initial 2026 best lineup ranking, The Athletic showcased the absolute best lineups in all of Major League Baseball. With that said, there was one division that seemed to stand above the rest of the pack as the clear-cut winner for most powerful.

The American League East, which featured four teams in the top ten.

AL East slugfest

The New York Yankees, Baltimore Orioles, Toronto Blue Jays, and Boston Red Sox highlight the top ten, and their predictions should be practically guaranteed. Outside of those teams is the Tampa Bay Rays, who sit at a lowly 23rd.

Of that group, the Yankees are projected to have the best lineup in the division, but not of the entirety of Major League Baseball. That spot goes to the reigning back-to-back World Series champions, the Los Angeles Dodgers.

This division features a number of the game's best power hitters and hitters in general. Aaron Judge, Gunner Henderson, Jackson Holliday, Roman Anthony, and Vladimir Guerrero Jr. highlight the vast landscape of this division. There is a great chance that the AL MVP could have its winner, and some of the close runner-ups from the AL East alone.

To counter the offensive onslaught, this division also posts some of the best pitching staffs in baseball. It is safe to say that if you are a lover of the game, no matter if your favorite team is in the AL East or not, this division is must-watch TV.
