AJ Dybantsa is ready to lead whatever team picks him into the Playoffs in his first year

AJ Dybantsa is clearly one of the top prospects ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft. In fact, many people see him as the number one overall pick going to the Washington Wizards over his chief rival, Darryn Peterson.

With either the Wizards or the Utah Jazz set to select him, Dybantsa is confident he will be a franchise-altering player for either team. That is immense confidence from a player without a single NBA game under his belt, but he is ready for the moment.

Ahead of the 2026 NBA Draft, there are a lot of "generational" prospects in the class. Dybantsa is the most popular name among NBA fan circles, especially with his eye-popping talent at 6'9".

He is a potential superstar with his size, go-to scoring ability, and defensive upside. Dybantsa has superstar written all over him, and he combines that with the utmost confidence in his own abilities.

Since he will end up with either the Wizards with the first overall pick or the Jazz with the second overall pick, most people's expectations are for him to have a strong individual rookie year.

However, it seems Dybantsa thinks that he could lead his new team to the Playoffs in his first year. With the quality of teams around the league, that is a hard task, but he is not lacking in confidence, that's for sure.

"So, whatever team I go to, they weren’t in the playoffs last year. So, my number one goal is to not only make the Playoffs, but also go far in the Playoffs," Dybantsa said on the 7PM in Brooklyn show hosted by Carmelo Anthony.

"Like, I think both teams, Utah and Washington, have a deep enough roster that if they add me, we can automatically be a playoff team. And then Rookie of the Year, obviously."

Confidence is a big part of why people see him as a future star. He knows he has all the tools to become a top-tier player, so he is ready to back up all the talk with his play on the court for either the Wizards or the Jazz.
