Pundit Jamie Carragher has issued a piece of advice to Liverpool superstar Mohamed Salah after his recent spat with coach Arne Slot. The Egypt international has left the club for AFCON after featuring in their 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion last weekend.

Carragher appeared on Sky Sports' Monday Night Football show ahead of the game between Manchester United and Bournemouth. The former Liverpool man spoke directly to Salah, appealing with the 33-year-old forward to soften his stance towards the coach in order to be able to fully enjoy his legacy at the club.

"What we see there. It was nicer than we saw at Elland Road. But does Mo Salah deserve more than that? He deserves a guard of honour. He deserves a mosaic in the Kop. He deserves to be able to bring his family, his wife and his kids on the pitch, in his last game and actually celebrate what he's done as a Liverpool player. So put your differences with the manager aside and just think, three or four months at Liverpool. The worst thing that is going to happen is I get this big send off. The best thing that could happen is I am walking out with my team-mates in Budapest for the Champions League final. If he was sat in Saudi Arabia watching Liverpool do that. I think he'd really regret it", he said (via GOAL).

Mohamed Salah has been strongly linked with a move away from Anfield after he appeared to insinuate that he may not return to the club after AFCON. The former Chelsea man has long been coveted by Saudi sides, and they could sense an opportunity to move for him again.

The Egyptian King, as he is fondly called, started on the bench in the game against Brighton, his last before joining up with his international teammates. He provided an assist for Hugo Ekitike to score their second of the game and seal the three points. He came into the pitch following an injury to Joe Gomez in the 26th minute and was on the pitch for the remainder of the game.

Mohamed Salah makes Premier League history in last Liverpool game pre-AFCON

Liverpool ace Mohamed Salah has written his name into the record books in England once more following an assist in his side's 2-0 win over Brighton & Hove Albion. The veteran forward crossed for Hugo Ekitike to power home a header in the second half and seal the win.

The Reds' star took his tally of goal contributions in the Premier League for the club to 277, making him the player to record the most goal contributions for a single club. He overtook Manchester United legend Wayne Rooney, who previously held the record with 276 goal contributions.

The game against the Seagulls was the last one for the experienced forward before jetting out to North Africa for the AFCON. He has had to endure a torrid few weeks, and will be hopeful of playing more once he returns from the tournament.
