• One of the best signs a rescue kitten is starting to feel better is when they begin making demands. A kitten that's too weak usually sleeps through everything and barely has the energy to fuss. Once they start complaining that breakfast is five minutes late or insisting on sleeping in one very specific spot, you know their personality is starting to win out over survival mode. Pluto's tiny list of demands might sound funny, but they're exactly the kind of progress everyone loves to see.

• A kitten soup belly is one of those things that never gets old. That tiny, round tummy after a good meal is equal parts adorable and reassuring, especially when it's attached to a rescue kitten who's been fighting so hard to grow.
