Many fans were surprised to learn that Adam Sandler officiated Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding last week, but this actress believes that the choice made sense.

Kelce and Swift said "I do" on July 3 at Madison Square Garden, where the comedian played the important role of officiating the couple in front of their 1,000 guests. Jana Kramer, who worked alongside Sandler in the 2006 comedy film Click, told the "Whine Down" podcast Friday, July 10, on why the comedian was an excellent choice.

“It almost does make sense to me now because he does have that sentimental [personality] like, he’s just such a sweet man,” she gushed. “He really is, and he’s a good man. So I could see him being really funny, but then also really grounded and sentimental.”

She added that Sandler is “very intentional when he speaks.”

The comedian did not hesitate on acepting Kelce and Swift's proposal to be a part of their wedding, with a source telling People that he “said yes right away.” He "was incredibly honored to be part of such a special day,” the insider added.

Why did Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce choose Adam Sandler?

Kelce and Swift have yet to share exactly why Sandler was chosen, but it's clear that the actor has a lot of love for the couple.

The Kansas City Chiefs star and Sandler worked together on Happy Gilmore 2, where Kelce played a waiter. Sandler spoke about Kelce's contagious personality following the release last year.

“Travis is such a gentle, nice guy, and funny as hell,” Sandler told Entertainment Tonight at the time. “He’s like the guys I grew up with. When I was with Travis, it reminded me of my buddies in high school and just being able to laugh and say the things you want to say.”

Swift and Sandler have yet to work together, but he and his family are big fans of the pop star. He has previously raved about how sweet a person she is when she's around them.

"Taylor is so d--n nice to my family and has always been,” Sandler said. “My kids have met Taylor a bunch of times over the years, and she’s ridiculously nice to them and warm."

Swift and Kelce had a star-studded ceremony with guests like Serena Gomez and Tom Brady. The three-time Super Bowl champion wore a custom white tuxedo designed by Christian Dior, and Swift walked down the aisle in a custom white Christian Dior Haute Couture. Fans have yet to see official photos from their wedding, but Swifties are awaiting to see their looks.
