‘Acting dumb’: Analyst sends concerning message on Colorado Buffaloes’ legend Shedeur Sanders’ impression lately

Colorado Buffaloes football legend Shedeur Sanders has made a loud brand out of his personality, a brand that has been receiving much hate since his stunning slide in the 2026 NFL draft.

The same bruised brand had to also sustain quite some beating and more after the recent speeding headlines that Sanders made.

Which is why analyst Terry Pluto advised Sanders to play the “underdog label” and, more importantly, avoid the mistakes he’s been prone to.

“There’s a couple of issues going on here,. He had a ticket for going 101 and then a couple weeks earlier, I think it was 91 miles an hour. Anybody that’s ever been driving on the interstate and seen somebody go blow past at 91 or 100 miles an hour knows that it’s almost terrifying… That’s part of it. The other part was, he didn’t show up at court,” Pluto said of Sanders.

“That’s basically just kind of a young guy acting dumb. I didn’t say he was dumb, but those are dumb actions and dangerous ones."

The analyst feels that somewhere, Sanders’ public image changes how the NFL teams view him. Sanders could have been more careful, given that he’s fighting to get a spot on the Browns' 53-man roster

“You are a fifth-round draft choice...144 guys were picked in front of you,” Pluto said. “Every NFL team passed on you at least four times in the draft and your main job here is playing football...I’m still not sure if Shedeur Sanders fully understands that he’s got all these guys in front of him.

“If I were (Sanders), I would play the underdog label. But he’s still kind of rolling out the brand stuff.”

All that said, Sanders has never been the one to dial down who he was. Expecting him to change that might be a long shot now, mainly because he carries it from his father.

Chances are, Sanders will remain unapologetic about his brand, but more negative headlines like his speeding tickets will only damage his chances of making it to his first starting role in the NFL.
