India opener Abhishek Sharma fell while attempting to clear the ropes off Adam Zampa in the fourth T20I of the five-match series against Australia. The contest is being played on Thursday, November 6, at the Carrara Oval in Queensland.

The dismissal occurred on the fourth ball of the seventh over of India’s innings. Zampa delivered an 82.2 kph tossed-up delivery, which Abhishek tried to loft over the boundary but couldn’t get enough distance on it. Tim David completed a clean catch near long-on, giving the hosts their first breakthrough of the game.

The southpaw was dismissed after scoring 28 runs off 21 deliveries, including three fours and a six. His wicket left the visitors at 56/1 after 6.4 overs.

So far in the series, across four games, Abhishek has scored 140 runs in as many innings at an average of 35.00 and a strike rate of 159.09, including a solitary fifty, with a best score of 68 off 37 in the second T20I.

Australia skipper Mitchell Marsh won the toss and opted to bowl, bringing Josh Philippe, Glenn Maxwell, Ben Dwarshuis, and Adam Zampa into the XI, while India’s lineup remained unchanged.

The Indian openers started positively, with Abhishek Sharma and Shubman Gill adding 31 runs in the first four overs. The duo continued to take charge as India finished the powerplay at 49/0.

Adam Zampa was introduced in the seventh over; Sharma cleared him for six on the second ball but was dismissed for 28 on the very next delivery.

Shivam Dube then walked in at No. 3 to join Gill. At the halfway mark, India were 75/1, with Gill on 33 and Dube on 11.

Meanwhile, the winner of this game will take a 2-1 lead with one match remaining, ensuring they cannot lose the series.
