KL Rahul (39) and Washington Sundar (29) began the day for India with an overnight score of 37/1. The duo batted defensively and put on a 57-run partnership for the second wicket in 164 balls before Simon Harmer dismissed Sundar to give South Africa their first breakthrough on Saturday.

"It is going straight from one end but from one end you feel like it is doing all sorts of things. You're never set on this kind of a wicket and patience is key for us bowlers." "We need to stick to our plans and there will be some opportunities for the batters to score runs as well. Given the kind of wicket it is, it will be really easy for us if we can keep them down to around 125, " Axar added.
