Aaron Rodgers slams ex Danica Patrick in explosive new interview

Aaron Rodgers did not hold back about his former relationship with Danica Patrick. 

Rodgers made an appearance on the Not Just Football podcast, where he recalled not having the best time in his romance with the former racing driver. 

“I dated Danica [Patrick]. She had just retired. She was depressed and not fun to be around, but I didn’t leave her because I was trying to be there and be a good partner,” Rodgers shared with host and teammate Cam Heyward.

“Then it was going a certain direction, obviously. There was no intimacy. There was nothing,” he continued. “And I’m buying a house in Malibu and she goes, ‘Would you want to buy it together?,’ and I said no.”

While there were discomforts in the relationship on Rodgers' end that he noted in the interview. There was a time when they chose to see how they could fix their relationship through therapy, which Patrick suggested. They did go to couples therapy, but after not being able to heal their relationship, they later split in January 2020. 

The disagreements didn't end with their 2020 split; in recent years, Patrick has come forward on her side of the breakup. 

“The breakup with Aaron in 2020, because it was sudden,” Patrick said on "The Sage Steel" podcast last year. “It felt like it was my life. So when you live with somebody, it’s your whole life… And because the nature of the relationship was emotionally abusive, so that wore me down to nothing.”

She also went into detail with the claim that the Super Bowl champion was "emotionally abusive" to her. 

“Someone that you know, people could never imagine that I would lack any confidence or belief in the simple things about who I am. Everything was torn to bits. He leaves a trail of blood. I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff after we — there’s been enough out there.

Rodgers defended himself amid the claim that he was emotionally abusive to Patrick and that their breakup came as a surprise to her.

“She tells a story that, ‘I was so blindsided by getting left by you, and he leaves a trail of blood around.’ I’m like what are you talking about? That is not what happened by any means,” Rodgers said.
