Aaron Rodgers makes shocking update about brother Jordan and family estrangement

Aaron Rodgers revealed he made amends with his brother Jordan Rodgers after ending his years-long estrangement from his family.

“There’s been a few things that have happened the last couple of years, which has made the idea of reconciling with my parents first an opportunity,” the Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback shared on Thursday’s episode of the “Not Just Football” podcast.

The NFL star explained he had met up with his parents, Ed and Darla Rodgers, ahead of the couple’s move from Chico, California, to Nashville, Tennessee.

“The last day they were in Chico, was the day I met them there at their house, the house I had bought them and built for them,” Aaron, 42, said.

“And so, again, full circle,” he added, explaining he traveled to Nashville a few weeks later and reunited with his older brother, Luke Rodgers, 44, before seeing Jordan, 38, “a couple weeks after that.”

“It was cool,” Aaron continued. “There were tough conversations for sure, but I’m just in a much better headspace.”

Aaron once again credited his extremely private wife, Brittani, whom he secretly married in 2025, for encouraging him to reconcile with his family.

“Not that she was pushing me, she wasn’t,” he clarified. “It was more just … when you’re loved by someone in such an unconditional and beautiful, pure way, it changes your perspective on all your relationships.”

The athlete admitted that he likely wouldn’t have ever considered reconnecting with his family even a year ago, blaming it on “ego and judgement,” which he had to “put aside.”

Aaron also explained how he decided to keep his family feud out of the spotlight and alluded to how Jordan aired their dirty laundry while appearing on Season 12 of “The Bachelorette” with his now-wife, JoJo Fletcher.

At the time, Jordan was introducing Fletcher to his family, including his parents and Luke, but Aaron was noticeably missing.

Explaining Aaron’s absence, Jordan said, “Me and Aaron don’t really have that much of a relationship. It’s just kind of the way he’s chosen to do life, and I’ve chosen to stay close with my family and my parents and my brother.”

Speaking about the rift on Thursday’s podcast, Aaron said, “Nobody knew anything that was going on with it.”

“I decided I didn’t want to play this out in the media because I didn’t think that was right,” he said. “Now, other members of my family would say things, whether the intent was to harm — a couple times it was by a few of them, a couple times they really didn’t know what was going on.”

Aaron boasted about his success after winning his first Super Bowl with the Green Bay Packers in 2011, adding, “They didn’t know what it would be like to have a son who was super-famous.”

“Now, full circle, [we’re] back together,” he continued. “It’s amazing. It’s been great to have all those people — my little brother, my older brother and his family, my parents — that’s been really, really special.”

Aaron shocked fans when he shared Instagram photos alongside his parents and Luke for “another bonding week” in July.

While Jordan wasn’t present, he later told NFL Network’s Kyle Brandt that he had mended his relationship with “all” of his family.
