Birthdays are important.
New York Yankees superstar Aaron Judge provided that reminder on Sunday as he celebrated his special day on April 26 with a home run.
The Yankees may not have had much to celebrate in a loss to the Houston Astros, but Judge did his part on the day he turned 34.
In fact, it was the third birthday home run of his Yankees career. That's tied for second in franchise history, according to MLB Network's Sarah Langs.

Yogi Berra and Graig Nettles also had three birthday homers apiece for the Yankees.
Lou Gehrig holds the franchise record with four.

There is a key component at play here to have a chance at a record like this, and that's when your birthday actually falls.
Babe Ruth, for example, was born on February 6. No one is playing baseball on that date.
And Mickey Mantle was an Oct. 20 baby, and back when he played, even the World Series was done by then.
So there's less competition for Judge in this, but Gehrig is involved, so Judge will have to do this again in the years ahead to match Gehrig, who was born on June 19.
It's certainly a quirky stat, but it's also a fun one, and of course Judge is right in the thick of Yankees history in this, too.
