Aaron Jones fantasy injury tip: Vikings RB update creates depth chart crossover with Jordan Mason

1 hour ago 1

Aaron Jones had to leave Week 9 early.

After a hamstring earlier this season, the concern initially was that the Vikings' RB had reinjured that.

But no, it's a shoulder injury, an AC sprain.

The good news is that Jones has told reporters already this week that this is something he's deal with before and that he'll be good to go for Week 10 against the Ravens.

The tricky part in fantasy football is how Jones and Jordan Mason work together.

Jones had nine carries before leaving Week 9, running efficiently for 79 yards, while adding 20 yards on two catches.

He and Mason, when both healthy, have split duties.

Jones is the clear PPR favorite as the back the Vikings will throw passes to.

Mason seems to slightly win the early-down work and be more likely to get runs down near the goal line.

Both are talented enough, in a matchup with a less-than-perfect Ravens defensive front, to warrant at least FLEX plays. But the fact that Jones and Mason are both out there does limit their respective upsides.

Keep a slight eye on the injury report this week. There's always a chance Jones doesn't progress as well as hoped.

If Jones has to miss out, free agent pickups like Bam Knight, Tank Bigsby or Devin Singletary could be worth looking into.
