One of the most interesting storylines to watch this offseason pertains to the future of wide receiver A.J. Brown with the Philadelphia Eagles.
Brown has been disgruntled over the Eagles' offense for a few years now, with his role and the overall dysfunction in the unit being Brown's biggest issues.
As a result, there has been a sense that the Eagles could trade Brown this offseason.
ESPN's Jeremy Fowler added more smoke to the fire Thursday, when he reported there is a growing sense around the league the Eagles will take calls on Brown.
"Well some people I've talked to around the league, some executives with other teams, do expect that the Eagles will at least entertain a trade for A.J. Brown, who is unhappy on numerous fronts," Fowler said.
There are a few major roadblocks to consider when it comes to the Eagles trading Brown. Not only would Philly have to eat a large amount of dead money, but they would also have to spend money to replace him.
If the Eagles decide that's the route they want to take, we would expect the Pittsburgh Steelers, Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots to all be suitors.
The Steelers once again failed to add an adequate No. 2 wide receiver in 2025 and the team has depth concerns as well. Pittsburgh needs to make a big splash at wide receiver to help DK Metcalf and improve the passing attack overall.
The Bills appear to have struck out with Keon Coleman, who the team was hoping would step into the No. 1 wide receiver role in 2025 before he failed to do so.
Buffalo whiffed on free agent Joshua Palmer, also, and there aren't any inspiring pass-catcher options behind Khalil Shakir and Dalton Kincaid.
The Patriots were on the doorstep of winning a Super Bowl in 2025 and now need to add more weapons for Drake Maye, who doesn't have any proven pass-catchers outside of Stefon Diggs and Hunter Henry.
If we had to pick our favorite among these three teams, it would be the Patriots.
Brown has a connection to head coach Mike Vrabel from their days together with the Tennessee Titans, and New England has the cap space to fit Brown's contract and the draft capital to facilitate this kind of trade.
We would put the Steelers ahead of the Bills because of their superior cap space and draft pick situations.
