It's a good week to be a running back in the NFL.

Between wet weather, early leads and just some excellent performances, a slew of running backs showed out in Week 8 to leave some fantasy owners thrilled and others devastated.

Not every running back who shined in Week 8 is a name you might expect. Tyler Allgeier had his best game as a Cardinal, while Braelon Allen reminded the Jets that Breece Hall isn't the only running back in green who can rack up yards.

Here are the running backs who shined in Week 8 and their final numbers.

NFL running backs who stole the show in Week 8

Tyler Allgeier, Cardinals

  • 11 carries, 147 yards, 5 catches, 44 rec. yards, 2 total TDs

Gardner Minshew deserves plenty of credit for the Cardinals' comeback win over the Cowboys on Sunday, but Tyler Allgeier made Arizona's offense go. The former Falcon had 191 total yards and two touchdowns, including a 63-yard score as the Cardinals got back into the game after Jacoby Brissett was benched.

Jahmyr Gibbs, Lions

  • 23 carries, 153 yards, 1 TD, 2 catches, 13 rec. yards

The Vikings did a fine job of limiting the Lions' passing game on Sunday, but they couldn't slow Jahmyr Gibbs. The All-Pro rushed for 153 yards and a touchdown on 23 carries, doing exactly what the Lions paid him to do and setting the tone in a critical divisional win.

Tony Pollard, Titans

  • 21 carries, 117 yards, 2 TD, 3 catches, 20 rec. yards

The Titans didn't win on Sunday, but their offense has looked much better over the last two weeks. Tony Pollard is the biggest reason. The veteran running back has put up more than 100 yards with multiple touchdowns in back-to-back weeks, rushing for 117 yards and two scores against the Bengals with another 20 yards through the air to make fantasy owners happy.

Bucky Irving, Buccaneers

  • 27 carries, 170 yards, 1 TD

The Buccaneers didn't complete a single pass in ugly conditions on Sunday, but they were able to earn a shutout victory over the Falcons because their backfield was excellent. Bucky Irving continued a resurgent season with 170 yards and a touchdown despite the predictability of the offense, moving to 728 rushing yards on the season.

Kenny Gainwell, Buccaneers

  • 25 carries, 140 yards

Not bad for the Buccaneers' second-leading rusher, right? Kenny Gainwell split carries with Irving on a day in which Tampa Bay didn't complete a pass, and he was nearly as efficient with 140 yards and 25 carries.

Braelon Allen, Jets

  • 21 carries, 147 yards, 1 TD, 2 catches, 6 rec. yards

The Jets would typically expect to win when scoring 33 points, but it wasn't enough against the Raiders. That doesn't take away from the performance by Braelon Allen, who continues to enjoy a resurgent season as Breece Hall works his way back from injury. Allen rushed for 147 yards and a touchdown on 21 carries, averaging a clean seven yards per attempt and pushing his season total to 565 yards on the ground.

Jaylen Warren, Steelers

  • 17 carries, 143 yards, 1 TD

The Steelers didn't get much out of Aaron Rodgers and the passing game against the Browns, but they didn't need to. Jaylen Warren set the tone with a dominant first half and finished with 143 yards and a touchdown on 17 carries as the best season of his career presses on.

Bhayshul Tuten, Jaguars

  • 16 carries, 104 yards, 2 catches, 55 rec. yards, 2 total TDs

The Jaguars romped the Colts on Sunday behind a terrific offensive balance. Bhayshul Tuten put up an efficient 104 yards on 16 carries, and he added another touchdown through the air for a 159-yard day. The former Day 3 pick is on pace for more than 1,000 rushing yards in his first season as a starter.
