The Philadelphia 76ers have struggled to avoid the injury bug, a problem the organization needs to address. It's an unfortunate situation for all involved, but multiple players have dealt with injuries over the past few years.
At the top of that list are Joel Embiid and Paul George, two of the three most important players on the roster outside of Tyrese Maxey.
Some have even taken it a step further, suggesting that the 76ers have to blow it up and move on from Embiid after the latest George news, which suggested that he could be out during the start of training camp.

That includes ClutchPoints’ Jedd Pagaduan, who proposed a trade idea to send Embiid to the San Antonio Spurs.
76ers move: Joel Embiid
Spurs move: Devin Vassell, Harrison Barnes, Jeremy Sochan, three first-round picks (2027 ATL first-round pick, 2029 and 2031 SAS first-round pick)
“But if somehow, Embiid's best self is still in there, then this could be a risk any team — including the Spurs — could talk themselves into. The last time Embiid was healthy, he was dominant; even when he was limping during the 2024 NBA playoffs, he dropped 50 and left it all out on the court,” he wrote.
Only getting three first-round picks back for Embiid with some of the other trade packages that have happened around the league over the past few years would be tough to see at the Sixers deal with, but it's possible that teams are very worried about his injury history.
Even if that's the case, it's also fair to suggest that he’s still one of the best five players in the NBA, as the last time he played more than 39 games, in 2022-23, he averaged 33.1 points and shot 54.8% from the field.
He was quite literally unstoppable, and there should still be a price to pay for that.
