76ers' Nick Nurse predicted to be on hot seat for Jaylen Brown reason

It's almost crazy to think about the trade the Boston Celtics and Philadelphia 76ers made about a week ago, with the blockbuster deal sending Jaylen Brown to Philadelphia for Paul George.

There was more that went to both sides, but this was a massive win for Philadelphia, at least according to most.

So much so that some are saying that, because of how big a deal this was for the 76ers, it wouldn't be surprising to see some people be on the hot seat if things don't go as planned over the next year.

That includes head coach Nick Nurse, with one ESPN reporter even going as far as to say that he could be on the hot seat and even lose his job if this team doesn't perform up to expectations.

“The Jaylen Brown-Paul George deal. If Boston wins 50-plus games next season, as it has done the past five seasons, what did the Celtics lose?

“If they stay ahead of Philly in the East, does 76ers' coach Nick Nurse land on the hot seat? If they use the picks they got in the deal to pick up players who significantly improve their roster, what then? Owners value flexibility, and this deal got the system-strong Celtics more flexibility, and it got the 76ers committed to a core that could potentially be a misfit,” ESPN wrote.

As I've said in the past about Philadelphia, everything will be because of how healthy they are. If the 76ers can stay on the court, specifically Joel Embiid, this is going to be one of the top five teams in the Eastern Conference, at the very worst.

There's also a feeling that Philadelphia can be even better than that if Embiid is fully healthy. However, if he isn't, I don't know how much we can really put on Nurse at the moment.
