76ers linked to 5-time All-Star for LeBron James reason

It's that time of year in the NBA when it's down to the wire for teams to get their rosters just right. The Philadelphia 76ers already made their biggest move of the offseason, of course, by adding veteran LeBron James to their lineup. They totally won the LeBron sweepstakes, as they say. But, they may not be finished yet.

There are still a few little things this team could do to solidify their lineup for 2026. Now, the 76ers are being linked to one of the hottest free agents still on the market.

In a piece out on Friday, a panel of NBA insiders from ESPN lay out the best remaining free agents in the league. These are changes that may not get as much buzz as Giannis Antetokounmpo joining the Miami Heat but would certainly get attention if they go through.

76ers could sign All-Star who's a friend of LeBron James

One of those free agents is Kevin Love. According to ESPN's Dave McMenamin, Love's agent, Jeff Schwartz of Excel Sports Management, has "been in touch with the Philadelphia 76ers' front office since James picked Philadelphia."

The report adds that Love and James have "remained close" since playing with the Cavaliers and have even gone on vacations together. But, they warn that the friendship "doesn't necessarily mean there will be a roster spot for the former five-time All-Star by training camp."

Still, having James as one of your BFFs can't hurt in trying to get placed on the 76ers roster. This is an arrangement that could certainly happen.
