A star is leaving WWE and has addressed a rumor that he's furious with the promotion. A couple of weeks ago, Hall of Famer Mick Foley announced that he no longer wishes to associate himself with the Stamford-based promotion.
This was after he questioned how some of his colleagues can stand by Donald Trump after the U.S. President made comments about Rob Reiner after the filmmaker's passing.
Foley then publicly parted ways with WWE, announcing that he won't be renewing his Legends deal once it expires in June next year due to the promotion's close association with Trump. However, the Hardcore Legend shut down rumors that he is furious with the company for using his footage.
In a video on Instagram, Foley addressed the claims and said he was proud of his work and that they had every right to use the footage.
"I found out that an Instagram site called It’s Wrestling Lover is putting out a completely fabricated story about me being furious with WWE for using my wrestling footage. First of all, it’s their footage. They can do whatever they want with it. Secondly, I’m proud of the footage. I love everything I did when I was part of the company, and I like being seen. So, please retract this statement. Admit it’s false. Do the right thing and have a nice day!” he said.Jim Ross reacted to Mick Foley announcing WWE exit
Quite a few wrestling personalities reacted to Mick Foley publicly announcing his WWE exit.
Hall of Famer Jim Ross was among those who shared his take on the situation. Talking on Grilling JR, he said if Foley says he's done, that means he's done. He added that the former WWE Champion might be disillusioned with the company's support of Donald Trump.
Ross also mentioned that perhaps nobody in the TKO-owned promotion would be worried by that, but they should be given that Foley is a valuable asset.
