The 2025 Bank of Utah Championship concluded on Sunday at Black Desert Golf Course with Michael Brennan claiming his first PGA Tour title. The event, part of the FedEx Cup Fall series featured five of the top 50 players in the Official World Golf Ranking.
While Brennan took the spotlight with his breakthrough victory, several players exceeded expectations and outperformed their pre-tournament odds. Here’s a look at five golfers who surprised fans with their impressive performances in Utah.
5 players who overperformed at the 2025 Bank of Utah Championship
5. Kristoffer Ventura
Kristoffer Ventura exceeded expectations with a T11 finish at 14-under par, outperforming his +11000 odds. The Norwegian entered the event after an inconsistent season making 15 cuts in 25 starts.
Ventura posted rounds of 69, 70, 64, and 67 to stay in contention through the weekend. After his T4 finish at the Farmers Insurance Open earlier this year, the Bank of Utah Championship marked his best result since then.
4. Brandt Snedeker
Brandt Snedeker finished T9 at 15-under par, defying his +27500 odds. The nine-time PGA Tour winner had been winless since 2018 and had made just 11 cuts in 22 events this season.
Snedeker started with rounds of 71 (E) and 69 (-2) before turning things around over the weekend with scores of 66 and 63. His T9 finish was his second-best performance of the season, following a T7 at the Memorial Tournament presented by Workday.
3. Justin Lower

Since joining the PGA Tour in 2022, Lower has been searching for his first win. He entered the event after a mixed 2025 season, missing 14 cuts in 26 starts but earning three top-10 finishes.
At the Bank of Utah Championship, he posted rounds of 66, 67, 68 and 67, including eagles on both the first and second days. The result marked one of the best weeks of his 2025 season.
2. David Ford
Rookie David Ford continued to make his mark with a T3 finish at 16-under, far surpassing his +25000 odds. Turning pro earlier this year, Ford had struggled to find consistency, missing seven cuts in 10 events this season. Despite that, he remained steady all week in Utah with rounds of 67, 65, 69, and 67.
1. Michael Brennan, winner of the Bank of Utah Championship
Michael Brennan stole the show with his first PGA Tour victory, finishing at 22-under par (262) and defying odds of +8000 and earning $1.08 million. The 2024 college standout entered the tournament on a sponsor exemption making just his third Tour start.
He opened with rounds of 67 and 65, followed by a 64 on Saturday that included six birdies, an eagle and a double bogey. Brennan closed with a 66 in the final round to secure the win.
