5 Minecraft features most players completely ignore

Minecraft might look like a simple game, but it has a plethora of features to explore. Players can simply mine and build structures, or delve deep into redstone's mechanics to create complex machines. While some features are extremely common and explored by every player, others might get overlooked by casual gamers.

Here is a list of some features that most players might miss or overlook.

5 features most players miss in Minecraft

1) Crawling

Crawling is a movement mechanic that not many people use, as it requires the player to use a trapdoor to push themselves down to enter the crawling animation. Through this mechanic, players can crawl in horizontal 1x1 holes as shown in the picture above.

Since most players usually have large entrances in their bases and mine their way through caves, they might never use the crawling mechanic in the game.

2) Item repairing

When players craft gears, they will usually apply either unbreaking or mending enchantments to prevent them from being destroyed. Even if some items get destroyed, players will simply craft a new one. Most players often forget that there is an easier way to prevent gears from being damaged and replenish their durability bar.

This method is by repairing them on an anvil. For example, if a player's diamond pickaxe is about to die, they can simply repair it using one or two diamonds on an anvil, as shown in the picture above.

3) Quasi Connectivity

Quasi-connectivity means that certain redstone blocks can be activated even if they do not have a redstone block activating them (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)Quasi-connectivity means that certain redstone blocks can be activated even if they do not have a redstone block activating them (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)

Quasi Conenctivity is a special redstone mechanic in Minecraft that allows some blocks, such as droppers or pistons, to be powered even when the redstone signal isn't connected to them directly. This creates a "ghost power" of sorts when the functional block is within one block above or to the side of a powered block.

Pistons are the most common example of this, as they can extend without an apparent connection, causing circuits to behave unexpectedly. Although advanced redstone engineers frequently use quasi-connectivity for various purposes, this Java Edition-exclusive feature is unknown to most players.

4) Respawn Anchors

Respawn anchors are usually not used by players (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)Respawn anchors are usually not used by players (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)

Respawn anchors are another feature that players hardly use in Minecraft. As the name suggests, this block can be used to respawn if a player dies in the Nether or the End. This is particularly useful if players specifically want to respawn in the Nether but cannot use beds to do so.

However, most new players who do not know about this feature are never able to craft and use it. Newbies will try to sleep in the Nether, which will result in their beds exploding, then never even think about a respawn point for the Nether ever again. Hence, many players not only ignore but are also simply unaware of this block.

5) Repairing Elytra

Many players ignore or forget that elytra can also be repaired (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)Many players ignore or forget that elytra can also be repaired (Image via Sportskeeda Gaming || Mojang Studios)

When players get an elytra, they try their best to get a mending enchantment on it so that it can be repaired after use. Though this is the best way to prevent an elytra from getting damaged, another method is by repairing it using phantom membrane.

Repairing elytra is often forgotten since phantoms hardly spawn for most players, particularly for those who sleep regularly. Since phantom membrane cannot be obtained from anywhere else, players usually focus on getting the mending enchantment for elytra rather than staying awake and farming membrane from phantoms.
