Expect to hear some San Francisco 49ers trade rumors on Friday.
They positioned themselves in the perfect spot of the 2026 NFL Draft to get all sorts of calls in hopes of making a deal.
This wasn't how it looked originally. The 49ers began Thursday night's first round with the 27th pick.
They traded down to 30 with the Miami Dolphins, though, and they weren't done.
Then they traded down again, with the Jets, to number 33.
They picked up a couple of extra draft assets in the process, but they also opened the door to trade talks.

Why 49ers trade down to 33 sets up more trades
The 33rd pick might be the most fascinating in the entire NFL Draft.
That's because it's the first pick of the second round, and it's because the NFL splits the first and second rounds into two nights.
That leaves about 20 hours for the 33rd pick to be "on the clock."

Any team that sees a player still on the board that they want can call up the team with the No. 33 pick to see if it's available. Trading up to the 33rd slot for any other team guarantees they get who they want, because there's no one ahead of them.
The 49ers may have had that in mind, or maybe not. But it's certainly another opportunity to stack more draft assets if they choose to take advantage and trade down once more.
