49ers reunite with 5-foot-8 RB via free agent signing

The San Francisco 49ers are reportedly bringing back a familiar face for a second stint with the franchise.

Specifically, the 49ers recently reunited with a 5-foot-8 running back following the 2026 NFL Draft.

“The San Francisco 49ers today announced they have signed RB Sincere McCormick and S Patrick McMorris to one-year deals,” the organization stated Tuesday.

“McCormick (5-8, 204) originally entered the NFL after signing with the Las Vegas Raiders as an undrafted free agent on May 13, 2022.”

“Throughout his NFL career with the Raiders (2022-24), 49ers (2025), Arizona Cardinals (2025), Denver Broncos (2025) and Minnesota Vikings (2025) he has appeared in five games (two starts) and registered 39 carries for 183 yards (4.7 average) on the ground and six receptions for 29 yards (4.8 average) through the air.”

McCormick, who’s only 25 years old, is still looking for his big break in the big leagues. The UTSA product has certainly had his moments thus far (he recorded 78 rushing yards on 15 carries against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024 and 64 rushing yards on 12 carries against the Kansas City Chiefs the same season.

However, he’s rushed for under 200 yards in his career and has bounced around the league a bit lately. Perhaps McCormick’s return to the 49ers could lead to a successful 2026-27 campaign if he plays his cards right.
