The San Francisco 49ers have hit the injury bug again.
But they're also 2-0, which means there's still plenty of hope, especially if QB Brock Purdy can get back from injury sooner rather than later.
And if the 49ers can stay afloat over the next month, they'll be a prime candidate to make a move before the Nov. 4 NFL trade deadline.
They've done it before, getting Christian McCaffrey midseason in 2022.

ESPN's Dan Graziano thinks they could target wide receiver this time around:
"Last season fell apart for the Niners because of injuries, and they're being walloped with them already this season. But they're also 2-0 and one season removed from an overtime loss in the Super Bowl. It might not be as big a splash as they made when they acquired running back Christian McCaffrey from the Panthers in the middle of the 2022 season, but it's easy to imagine San Francisco looking for help at wide receiver or in the secondary as the deadline gets closer."
The 49ers could be healthier at WR in a month if Brandon Aiyuk comes back and Jauan Jennings shakes off his nagging issues. Ricky Pearsall has been solid already, too.

But those are big ifs, and San Francisco could try to get some depth to offset any future problems.
And you can never have too much depth in the secondary, either, as front office leader and former safety John Lynch surely knows.
If only the 49ers could also trade for good health.
