49ers' Kendrick Bourne has hilarious reaction to being 1-yard away from $500,000

The San Francisco 49ers have had one of the more interesting wide receiver rooms in the NFL this season. From Ricky Pearsall's extended absence, Jauan Jennings coming in and out of the lineup while playing at a high level, and Brandon Aiyuk's contract drama, it's been a never-ending story for the 49ers.

But one of the more interesting storylines from the 49ers' WR room this season has been veteran Kendrick Bourne. In Week 15 against the Tennessee Titans, Bourne caught two passes for 17 yards. If he had just one more yard, he would've reached a $500,000 incentive.

After the game, a fan congratulated Bourne on reaching the 500 receiving yards milestone to hit that incentive. But he was one yard shy after a stat correction, and Bourne responded to this fan with a hilarious reaction to being so close to a major payday.

"Nawwwww bro I need 1 more yard hahaha nooooo," Bourne posted on Twitter/X after the 49ers win over the Titans.

Bourne has 499 receiving yards this season on 33 receptions, though the bulk of those yards came early in the season, and when Brock Purdy wasn't the starter.

If he gets just one more yard this season, reaching at least 500 on the year, then a $500,000 incentive will hit for Bourne, and he'll earn a major payday this season.

Bourne hasn't been involved in the offense much lately, recording just two targets and 19 yards in the previous four games before this Week 15 matchup.

His back-to-back 142-yard performances earlier this season against the Los Angeles Rams and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers gave him the bulk of his receiving total, and have Bourne right on the precipice of an incentive hit.

A September signing, Bourne has been a quality addition to the 49ers roster after being released by the New England Patriots in late August.

He spent four years in New England, going over 500 yards just once in his first year with the team. Bourne, in the first four years of his career with the 49ers, reached 500 yards just once in his final season in San Francisco.

And now, as long as he can make just one more catch and gain just one more yard, Bourne will reach 500 receiving yards for just the third time in his nine-year NFL career, and the first time since the 2021 season. He'll also make $500,000 for good measure, making this milestone a major one to reach for the 49ers receiver.
