Sitting at 5-0 through five weeks, there are a lot of things to like about the San Francisco 49ers. But that doesn't mean there aren't things to worry about.
Over the last few years, there might not be a team more hampered by injuries than the 49ers. Once again, these injury issues are hitting the 49ers hard. Through five weeks, the 49ers' wide receiver room has been tested in a big way.
Unfortunately, Deebo Samuel might not be the only WR who is coming out of Week 5 with an injury. Kyle Shanahan told reporters, including ESPN's Nick Wagoner, that Mike Evans is dealing with an Achilles injury and also has a rib issue.
Mike Evans dealing with Achilles injury amid uncertain Week 6 status
"49ers WR Mike Evans won't practice today," Wagoner reports. "He is dealing with Achilles soreness, per Kyle Shanahan. That's in addition to a rib issue."
Evans is not only dealing with a rib injury, but he also has soreness in his Achilles, which is a very worrying update for the 49ers wide receiver.
Achilles injuries are season-ending, though in this case it's not actually an Achilles tear. But that doesn't mean it's not a concerning situation for the 49ers offense.
They recently lost Samuel to a multi-week hamstring injury, and now there's some concern about Evans' status going forward.

It's still early in the week for the 49ers, with their Monday Night Football matchup against the Washington Commanders giving Evans some time to get right.
But, considering the 49ers are already without De'Zhaun Stribling, Ricky Pearsall, and Demarcus Robinson, and Christian Kirk isn't guaranteed to come back this week, losing Evans would be a huge deal for the 49ers.
As of now, their only healthy wide receivers are Brandin Cooks, Jordan Watkins and Brandin Cooks. If Evans and Kirk don't play in Week 6, the 49ers are going to have a very depleted wide receiver room.
It's too soon to tell if Evans will actually miss Week 6, but this Achilles injury update is something worth worrying about for the 49ers, considering all of the bad injury luck this team has right now.
