Brock Purdy is worth the money, according to one former NFL quarterback.
Long-time backup Chase Daniel appeared on the Fox Sports 1 channel on Thursday to share that opinion.
"53 to 56 million dollars a year is a bargain for Brock Purdy," Daniel said.
There have been all sorts of varied takes on Purdy throughout negotiations.
The prevailing reports seem to indicate that if an extension gets done, it'll be for at least $50 million per year.

There are some analysts who wouldn't pay the former Mr. Irrelevant even $40 million per year. Others want to give him $60 million per year.
To be a top-10 QB by salary in the NFL right now, Purdy would have to wind up at about $52 million per year.
Daniel is the first major analyst to settle into this new set of numbers. No one has compromised all those predictions into $56 million per year.

If he got $56M, Purdy would be the second-highest paid QB by annual average value, besides just Dak Prescott at $60M.
Four quarterbacks are at $55M per year: Joe Burrow, Josh Allen, Jordan Love and Trevor Lawrence.
It would be quite the feat for Purdy's contract if he leapfrogged all of them in AAV, that's for sure.
