The San Francisco 49ers have had a surprising 2024 National Football League season to say the least.

San Francisco has been dealing with a plethora of high-impact injuries from the jump and hasn't been fully healthy for a single game. The 49ers made a run to the Super Bowl last season and entered the 2024 campaign with similar expectations.

Things haven't worked out yet, but things always could turn around. The 49ers lost against the Seattle Seahawks last week in surprising fashion. Now, San Francisco is 5-5 on the season. San Francisco currently is tied with the Los Angeles Rams, and Seahawks in the AFC North standings. All three are behind the Arizona Cardinals in the standings as they have a 6-4 record.

While this is the case, there still is a solid chance that the 49ers could earn a playoff spot. The 49ers currently have the 10th spot in the NFC standings. The 49ers currently have a 30 percent chance of earning a playoff spot, according to the NFL Playoff Picture.

Earning a Wild Card spot would be somewhat surprising, although there is plenty of time left in the season. The most likely option seems to be winning the division. San Francisco still has games left against the Cardinals and Rams before the regular season comes to an end.

San Francisco fans should still have a lot of hope for the season. Christian McCaffrey is back in the fold and there is a good chance that the 49ers can right the ship. The 49ers record may not reflect it right now, but the 49ers still can make some noise.
