The rivalry between Cody Rhodes and Drew McIntyre has reached a whole new level after what happened recently. Before this week's episode of Monday Night RAW, WWE released a cinematic video on its social media, in which Nick Aldis visited McIntyre's home to negotiate the terms to get the Scotsman reinstated to SmackDown.
However, their meeting was disrupted by The American Nightmare, who launched an attack on The Scottish Warrior. The Undisputed WWE Champion has certainly crossed a line by invading McIntyre's property, and there could be repercussions for his actions.
Here are four ways WWE could punish Cody Rhodes for attacking Drew McIntyre in his home:
#4. A hefty fine
Cody Rhodes has certainly been acting more aggressively than usual lately. After what happened at McIntyre's home, it's highly unlikely that the Scotsman would let this incident slide.
The SmackDown general manager, Nick Aldis, may have to hand Rhodes a hefty fine as a punishment for his reckless actions.
#3. A suspension without pay
Nick Aldis had suspended Drew McIntyre for attacking the referee during the match between Cody Rhodes and Aleister Black last month. After Rhodes attacked McIntyre in his own house, The Scottish Warrior could demand that Aldis do the same with The American Nightmare.
The SmackDown general manager could be forced to suspend the Undisputed WWE Champion without pay.
#2. A public apology
Drew McIntyre is likely to fully use this incident to his advantage to get what he wants. Nick Aldis has already agreed to give McIntyre another title shot against Cody Rhodes and also allowed the Scotsman to choose the stipulation of the match.
To play mind games with The American Nightmare ahead of their title bout, McIntyre could demand a public apology from him for invading his property.
#1. Cody Rhodes could be stripped of the Undisputed WWE Championship
During the discussion between McIntyre and Aldis, the former demanded a legal document to be prepared, stating that if Rhodes puts his hands on The Scottish Warrior before their title match, he would be stripped of the Undisputed WWE Title, which Nick Aldis agreed to.
While no such document has been prepared, it is on record that Aldis had agreed to this demand. Since Rhodes attacked McIntyre immediately after, the Scotsman could threaten legal action against the company and force the SmackDown general manager to take action against The American Nightmare and strip him of his title.
