4 Reasons why The Vision with Austin Theory is simply not working

The debut of The Vision sent shockwaves through Monday Night RAW, establishing a terrifying hierarchy under the guidance of Paul Heyman. However, Austin Theory's addition as the group’s newest recruit might not be the best decision for the faction.

While Theory is undeniably talented, a large portion of the WWE Universe remains unimpressed with his new alignment. Many believe that shoehorning the former United States Champion into this powerhouse stable has diluted the group's aura.

Here are four reasons why The Vision with Austin Theory might not work.

#4. Austin Theory is better as a babyface

Before joining forces with Paul Heyman, Austin Theory was in the midst of a highly successful organic babyface run. His chemistry with Grayson Waller had seemingly evolved into a compelling frenemy dynamic where fans were firmly siding with Theory.

For the first time in his career, the 28-year-old star received genuine massive support on social media and from live crowds after a notable squash match against Jey Uso on the March 17 episode of Monday Night RAW.

By reverting Austin Theory to a stoic heel within the powerhouse faction, many believe that WWE has effectively hit the reset button on months of character growth and sacrificed a babyface who was finally connecting with the audience.

#3. The Vision was better as a powerhouse trio

When it comes to powerful factions, the "less is more" approach often works best. The original incarnation of The Vision, Paul Heyman, Bron Breakker, and Bronson Reed felt like an unstoppable group of pure destruction.

Fans believe that as a trio, they represented two of the most athletic monsters in wrestling history, guided by the greatest manager of all time. Adding Austin Theory, who seemingly relies more on technical prowess and cocky charisma, has made the group feel like a standard wrestling stable rather than an elite, specialized unit of hitmen.

#2. Bronson Reed is not getting enough spotlight, like he did throughout the year

In 2025, Bronson Reed had a career-defining year, headlined by his massive Tsunami splashes that took out top-tier stars like Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns. He was being presented as a primary protagonist of chaos.

However, since Theory’s inclusion, Reed has seemingly felt more like background muscle. Much of the television time has been dedicated to Theory’s integration and his interactions with Heyman, leaving Reed with fewer promos and less individual focus. Fans suggest that if The Vision is meant to showcase the future, it shouldn't come at the expense of the momentum Reed worked all year to build.

#1. Theory being revealed as a plant by Seth Rollins would work better in terms of storyline

From a narrative standpoint, many fans find it hard to buy into Austin Theory’s sudden loyalty to a group that destroyed his former mentor, Seth Rollins. Owing to his history, the current storyline feels off to those following the long-term continuity.

Many believe that The Vision will actually be more compelling if Austin Theory is revealed to be a mole working on behalf of Rollins. Having the 28-year-old star sabotage the group from within to pave the way for Rollins' return would be a far more satisfying payoff than simply having him be another guy in the faction.
