Drew McIntyre was suspended by Nick Aldis last week on SmackDown, but the WWE star made his return on the latest episode and joined Team Vision. This happened when Cody Rhodes was facing Bronson Reed in the main event match.

To aid the Tsunami, Vision members appeared on the show, leading to their disqualification. Logan Paul was also there to help the heel side. Soon after Drew McIntyre arrived, he destroyed the babyface team.

When Nick Aldis confronted Paul Heyman about the suspension, the Oracle stated that the WarGames team member could be anyone. The show ended when Heyman handed over a potential contract to McIntyre for joining his side.

In this article, we will be looking at four reasons why the former WWE World Champion joined Paul Heyman's alliance on the blue brand.

#4. Due to his rivalry with Cody Rhodes on WWE SmackDown

On Monday Night RAW this week, Cody Rhodes joined Team CM Punk despite having no grudges against Team Vision. The addition of the American Nightmare seems like a big factor in why McIntyre decided to join the other side.

McIntyre and Rhodes locked horns twice in an Undisputed WWE Championship match this year, and both times, Drew failed to dethrone him. This frustration could have led to his decision to join Paul Heyman's group on SmackDown.

#3. Heyman helped him lift the suspension

Nick Aldis suspended McIntyre for an indefinite period, but his return to the blue brand suggests the suspension has been lifted. It's possible that the Oracle helped McIntyre get his suspension over, and to return the favor, Drew joined their team for the upcoming double-structured match.

This alliance is temporary, and McIntyre is expected to return as a single star following WWE Survivor Series 2025.

#2. His hatred towards CM Punk

CM Punk and Drew McIntyre share an extreme level of hatred. Their rivalry was even named the rivalry of the year, as they contested many high-profile bouts in 2024.

The Second City Saint is seemingly the leader of the babyface team, and this could be why McIntyre joined Team Vision ahead of the PLE. McIntyre may want to channel his hatred towards the Voice of the Voiceless and seek vengeance for his previous loss.

#1. McIntyre has completed his Hollywood commitments

Some reports revealed that the WWE star was suspended as part of a storyline due to his Hollywood commitments. However, his surprise comeback could be a hint that he is done with his filming schedule and that WWE wants to incorporate him into the Survivor Series show.

As Rhodes had already joined Team CM Punk, Drew left with no opponents, which may have been a reason he joined Team Vision for this battle.
