Penta will battle Finn Balor in the first round of John Cena's The Last Time is Now Tournament on the November 21 edition of SmackDown. The two stars have been at odds for months and will meet in only their second singles match in WWE.
Their last one-on-one bout on the April 14 edition of WWE RAW ended in a no-contest. However, we are guaranteed a winner tonight as part of the tournament. But that doesn't mean the outcome needs to be decided without controversy or interference. That said, here are four ways Penta vs. Finn Balor could end tonight
4. Penta could win clean
The Man With Zero Fear has never faced John Cena, while Finn Balor was part of the legend's last match on WWE RAW. Balor teamed up with Dominik Mysterio and JD McDonagh to face Cena, Rey Mysterio, and Sheamus. While The Prince could be motivated to defeat Penta to exact revenge for his latest defeat, it doesn't seem like a possible outcome.
As a result, Penta could defeat Finn Balor clean in the middle of the ring to punch his ticket to the quarter finals of the tournament.
3. The Judgment Day could help Finn Balor win
It seems likely that Balor will be accompanied by JD McDonagh and Dominik Mysterio during his match against Penta. The faction has helped each other win countless times in the past, and could continue to work as a cohesive unit tonight on the blue-branded show.
They could collectively take up the responsibility of making Balor win after their loss this past week, and might succeed after a timely interference to put Penta at a disadvantage.
2. Rey Fenix could help Penta for a Lucha Brothers reunion
Before joining WWE, real-life brothers Penta and Rey Fenix were a tag team in AEW and the independent circuit. They have travelled the world together, but have yet to be seen in the same ring in the Stamford-based promotion. That could change tonight, with Rey Fenix emerging to help his brother if The Judgment Day tries to interfere in the match.
Fenix's interference could allow Penta to pick up the win over Balor in the first round match. The two brothers could then have an on-screen reunion for the first time in WWE after the match.
1. Dominik Mysterio could cost Finn Balor the match against Penta
Tensions have been brewing between Dominik Mysterio and Finn Balor for months. The two Judgment Day members have had disagreements for a while, and Mysterio could end up costing his teammate the match against Penta by accident.
It wouldn't be the first time Mysterio has helped the wrong person win by accident. However, after the match, Dirty Dom could double down on his actions and officially turn on Balor to leave The Judgment Day. He could tell Balor that he was nowhere to be found during his Intercontinental Championship match against John Cena, which was the final straw for Dirty Dom to want to leave the faction.
