Every time I hear someone met their soulmate on Hinge, I assume they got incredibly lucky or are lying for PR reasons. The odds just don’t add up. For every person who found the love of their life through a dating app there are approximately four hundred people who matched with someone, had a perfectly fine conversation, agreed to meet up, and then one of them unmatched at 11pm the night before without explanation. That is the more common experience. That is the one nobody is putting in their wedding speech.
These tweets feel a lot more realistic about what online dating actually looks like for most people and honestly it’s a relief to see it said out loud.
