Over the years, WWE's Chief Content Officer, Triple H, has built a reputation for making decisions that are in the best interest of the company through his booking of top superstars. With less than two months remaining in this year, it appears that some superstars have taken time off television despite their ongoing deals with the promotion.
Now, let's look at three WWE Superstars who are under contract but absent from the company.
#3. Santos Escobar
Santos Escobar's last televised match in WWE was at Worlds Collide on June 7, where Legado Del Fantasma (consisting of Escobar as the leader and Los Garza as members) defeated El Hijo de Dr. Wagner Jr., Pagano, and Psycho Clown in a six-man tag team match.
However, the 41-year-old's contract with the Stamford-based promotion later expired on October 7. A report indicated that the Mexican star was done with the company and was headed to AEW. But things took a different turn, and he re-signed with WWE. Despite being under contract with the company, Escobar has yet to make his return to the squared circle.
#2. Ludwig Kaiser
Ludwig Kaiser made his return on the June 30 episode of RAW and began portraying the masked luchador El Grande Americano, abandoning the Ludwig Kaiser persona.
Kaiser took over the role from Chad Gable, who was the original owner of the character before he was sidelined with a legitimate injury. As a result, he also inherited Americano's Speed Championship from Gable, but later dropped the title to Jasper Troy on the November 11 episode of NXT.
The 35-year-old last competed as Ludwig Kaiser on the April 18 episode of SmackDown, where he failed to win the Andre The Giant Memorial 2025 Battle Royal. After the bout, he went on a hiatus for almost three months, quietly disbanding Imperium.
#1. Former WWE Women's Champion Tiffany Stratton
Tiffany Stratton got promoted to the main roster in February 2024, where she featured on SmackDown. Stratton won the Women's Money in the Bank contract in her first year on the main roster, and later cashed in the contract on Nia Jax earlier this year to win her first WWE Women's Championship.
The 26-year-old proved to be a dominant champion, successfully defending the title against top female superstars on the blue brand. However, she eventually dropped the gold to Jade Cargill at Saturday Night's Main Event XLI, ending her reign at 302 days. After losing the Women's Championship, Tiffany went on hiatus, and there are no reports explaining the reason.
