CM Punk is one of the most popular and controversial stars in professional wrestling. The Second City Saint remains a hot topic among fans, irrespective of what season it is. He is currently the World Heavyweight Champion on RAW. However, a chorus of voices from within the WWE continues to urge the 46-year-old to hang up his boots.
While some question his in-ring action and physicality, others keep highlighting his waning passion towards the product. Time and time again, the topic of Punk's retirement becomes hot on and off the screen. A WWE legend also recently raised this matter in his podcast, asking The Best in the World to draw the curtains on his pro wrestling career sooner rather than later.
Here are three WWE figures who have told CM Punk to retire:
#3. Seth Rollins
Seth Rollins is CM Punk's arch-nemesis and that's an irrefutable fact. The two superstars were involved in a deeply personal feud in WWE last year. During SummerSlam 2024, The Visionary served as a Special Guest Referee in the match between CM Punk and Drew McIntyre. During that very bout, Rollins told The Best in the World to quit and retire from WWE.
The former Shield member also told Punk that he could leave the company and go away for good. It was however just a hilarious shot at the 46-year-old during that match, intended to intensify their on-screen animosity. Time and time again, Seth Rollins asked The Second City Sainy to quit WWE and go away, expressing his disdain for the latter.
#2. Kevin Nash
WWE legend Kevin Nash is another name who wants CM Punk to retire. While speaking on the recent epsiode of his podcast on December 29, 2025, the Hall of Famer made some controversial comments. Nash heavily criticized the reigning World Heavyweight Champion's performance in his tag team match on RAW, stating that Punk's punches looked very sloppy and slow.
The WWE legend lambasted The Second City Saint, especially for his wrestling skills. Kevin Nash believed that CM Punk's time had come to wind up his in-ring career. He opined that the 46-year-old must now walk away from the company for good. This was not a part of storyline as Nash expressed his raw opinions following Punk's tag team match on RAW.
#1. Austin Theory
Austin Theory is another WWE star who spoke about CM Punk's retirement. During his recent appearance on RAW Recap, The Vision member spat some harsh words about the reigning World Heavyweight Champion. Theory stated that wrestling is not for Punk anymore and that it's time for the veteran to go away from the company.
The 28-year-old also called The Second City "ego hungry" and "drawn out" for not willing to retire. All in all, Austin Theory deeply expressed his wish to see Punk hand up his boots and go away from the Stamford-based promotion. However, his comments were aligned perfectly with the ongoing storyline between Punk and The Vision on Monday Night RAW.
