St. Louis Blues goalie Jordan Binnington has been one of the NHL’s top trade candidates for multiple seasons now. Given how this season went for the Blues, it would not be surprising if they traded Binnington, who is entering the final season of his contract in 2026-27, this summer.
In 2025-26, Joel Hofer took over No. 1 duties for most of the season, and he is looking ready to be St. Louis’ No. 1 goalie.
Binnington had a tough year in 2025-26, posting a 13-20-7 record, a 3.33 goals-against average, and an .873 save percentage in 41 games. While he did have a difficult season, he should still generate interest because of his past success and the fact that this year’s goalie free-agent market is weak.
Due to this, let’s look at three teams that could trade for Binnington this offseason.
Florida Panthers
The Florida Panthers stand out as a prime potential landing spot for Binnington. Sergei Bobrovsky is entering the summer as a pending UFA, and there is a good chance that he will hit the market.
The Panthers will need to replace him if he walks, and Binnington would be an interesting option for them to consider. The Panthers, even after all their moves, have just enough cap space to trade for Binnington without any retention.
Edmonton Oilers
The Edmonton Oilers have long been linked to Binnington, and it would not be surprising if they kicked tires on him this summer. Tristan Jarry proved not to be the answer to their longtime starting goalie problem this season, and Connor Ingram is a pending UFA.
Because of this, the Oilers should be on the hunt for goalie help this summer, and Binnington will likely be on their radar. His ability to step up in clutch moments could be appealing to a contender like Edmonton.

Carolina Hurricanes
Could the reigning Stanley Cup champions make a push for Binnington this summer? Frederik Andersen is a pending UFA, and the Carolina Hurricanes would likely need to add a new goalie if the 36-year-old signs elsewhere or retires.
Binnington could be a solid replacement for Andersen in this scenario and could form a strong tandem with Brandon Bussi. Binnington and Bussi also have similar stories, as they both won the Stanley Cup as older rookies after multiple years in the AHL.
