3 games that GTA 6 should have as side activities

What has always made GTA special was not just the chaos or even the robberies, but the little bits of calm in between. The various side activities gave the world a sense of vibrancy. With GTA 6 approaching we are genuinely hoping that Rockstar fills Leonida up with enjoyable tiny distractions, meaningful in their own regard, that are as important as the missions.

So while we wait, here are three games that GTA 6 should have as side activities.

Top 3 game ideas Rockstar should turn into GTA 6 side activities

1) Underground fighting

Underground fight clubs were one of the coolest parts of GTA IV: The Ballad of Gay Tony, and bringing them back in GTA 6 would fit perfectly with Leonida’s gritty tone. Imagine slipping into a dimly lit basement gym after hours, where bets are placed, crowds cheer, and every punch feels heavy.

San Andreas already gave us gym workouts that improved stats like strength and stamina, and GTA 6 could evolve that. You’d train in proper gyms across the map, learning new combat moves, improving your reflexes, and maybe even unlocking brutal finishing techniques for street fights. Then, when you’re ready, you could enter high-stakes underground matches from knuckle boxing to full-on MMA cages.

There’s real gameplay potential here, too. Winning fights could earn you money, street reputation, and rare items like illegal performance enhancers or exclusive tattoos. This could add depth to the combat system while giving players a reason to keep training.

2) Fishing

Fishing might sound like an odd pick for GTA 6, but it makes sense for side activities. The game’s trailer already teased vast coastlines and swampy regions inspired by the Florida Keys and the kind of places that practically beg for fishing spots.

If Rockstar takes inspiration from Red Dead Redemption 2's fishing system, this could easily be one of the more innovative side activities in GTA 6. Different bait types, rare species, and weather changes just scratch the surface of all the possibilities. Perhaps Jason (the protagonist) decides to fish as a leisurely escape, only to learn he can profit either selling rare ocean life or smuggling them.

It doesn’t have to stop at the surface. Scuba diving and spearfishing could tie directly into exploration with uncovering hidden wrecks, treasure caches, or even secret missions deep underwater. It’s the kind of side activities that balance the intensity of gunfights and car chases.

3) Tennis

Tennis in GTA 5 is one of those activities that you did not anticipate really enjoying, but spent hours playing. It was fluid, responsive, and unexpectedly addictive. For many players, returning to Michael's backyard to play a quick match became a ritual.

For GTA 6, tennis deserves a proper comeback, this time expanded with multiple courts across Vice City and Leonida. Maybe you could challenge NPCs for money, join local tournaments, or unlock new rackets and outfits as you rise through the ranks. Adding co-op and online play would make it even better.

Imagine calling a friend into your session just to play a casual match by the beach at sunset.
