With a posted speed limit of just 40 MPH, Aiyuk was driving more than 60 MPH over the legal limit.

The video immediately caught the attention of fans and the local police, who confirmed that they were aware of the situation and were looking into it. The incident comes amid mounting tensions between Aiyuk and the 49ers, as he remains sidelined recovering from a knee injury and was recently placed on the reserve/left squad list.

On Wednesday, Aiyuk addressed the incident directly in a message posted to his YouTube channel.

"Sorry yall, my car content won't come with speeding anymore! Was praying with my son tonight and wouldn't want anybody else to miss out on an opportunity to do the same with their loved ones! My apologies," Aiyuk posted.

Aiyuk hasn’t seen game action since suffering ACL and MCL injuries in Week 7 against the Kansas City Chiefs during the 2024 NFL season. He won’t play again this year after the 49ers placed him on the Reserve/Left Squad list on December 14.

The 27-year-old receiver's troubles didn’t stop there, as the Niners recently announced that they will be voiding the guaranteed money in his 2026 contract due to disciplinary concerns, including how he has skipped team meetings and other activities, according to The Athletic.

Adding to his issues with the 49ers, Aiyuk could face legal trouble for driving 104 mph. Authorities have not provided detailed information, but penalties for speeding are expected.

After San Francisco’s 37-24 victory over the Tennessee Titans in Week 15, coach Kyle Shanahan was asked about Aiyuk and admitted, “We haven't seen him in forever.”
