If you missed out on seeing all that gross, zombie gore on the big screen, you can now watch 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple at home, aka the direct sequel to last year’s 28 Years Later movie.

Director Nia DaCosta takes the reigns for Part 2, taking over from director Danny Boyle. Alex Garland, who also wrote 28 Years Later and 28 Days Later, wrote the script. The story picks up after the events of the first film, and follows Jamie’s son Spike (Alfie Williams) as he joins the cult of survivors led by Sir Jimmy Crystal (Jack O’Connell). At the same time, fellow survivor and former doctor Dr Ian Kelson (Ralph Fiennes) discovers something that, if you can believe it, might make this zombie apocalypse situation even worse.

Also starring Erin Kellyman and Chi Lewis-Parry, 28 Years Later and 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple were filmed back to back in 2024, which is why there was such a short wait between movies. If you don’t mind waiting a little longer, you’ll soon be able to watch 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple streaming on Netflix, free to anyone with a Netflix subscription. Read on to learn when 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple will be streaming on Netflix.

How to watch the 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple movie on streaming:

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple is not currently streaming free on any of the subscription-based streaming services. However, if you don’t want to pay to buy or rent the movie, we do expect to see The Bone Temple streaming on Netflix in the near future, because of the Sony-Netflix output deal.

Netflix offers three subscription plans to fit your streaming needs. The plans start at $7.99/month for standard with ads and go up to $24.99/month for unlimited ad-free streaming in up to 4K UHD quality.

When will the 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple movie be streaming free on Netflix?

28 Years Later: The Bone Temple will likely be on Netflix in the next few months, sometime in spring 2026.

Netflix has a deal with Sony Pictures that gives the streamer the rights to the Sony movies in the “Pay 1” window, meaning the first streaming window after the film’s home media release. Last year, the 2025 movie 28 Years Later came to Netflix about three months after opening in theaters.

If 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple follows this same release pattern, you can expect The Bone Temple to stream on Netflix around mid-to-late April 2026, aka three months after the movie opened in theaters

Still other Sony movies have taken four months to come to Netflix. So while it hasn’t been consistent every time, we do expect to see 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple on Netflix in the next few months.

In the meantime, you can watch The Bone Temple movie online by buying or renting the movie on digital platforms.
