Deion Sanders and Colorado got their first 2027 commit on the books. Four-star athlete Alexander Ward from IMG Academy (Fla.) announced his commitment to Buffaloes on Tuesday.
Ward, who decommitted from Alabama last month, joins his brother Christian Ward, a 2026 Colorado commit, in Boulder for the future.
The native of Marietta, Georgia, Ward transferred to IMG ahead of his junior season. The 6-foot-1, 170-pounder has recorded seven tackles in six games this fall, while flashing two-way potential from his days outside of Atlanta, where he posted 152 receiving yards, two touchdowns, and two interceptions as a sophomore.
— Hayes Fawcett (@Hayesfawcett3) November 4, 2025Ranked No. 216 nationally and the No. 10 athlete in Rivals' 2027 class, Ward chose Colorado over recent offers from Florida, Georgia, and Texas. His commitment gives the Buffaloes a promising start to their 2027 cycle as Sanders looks to rebuild recruiting momentum after a slower 2026 class. Colorado is currently 68th nationally for next year with 13 players and no five stars in Sanders' tenure.
