2025 NFL mock draft roundup: Experts predict Colts selection

4 hours ago 1

The Indianapolis Colts are just hours away from the 2025 NFL Draft.

Holding the No. 14 overall pick, there are a handful of ways general manager Chris Ballard can go about adding to the roster.

There are glaring needs at the tight end, right guard and linebacker positions, but Ballard may simply opt to go with a best-player-available approach.

Here's a look at what the experts are predicting for the Colts in their final mock drafts:

Colts 2025 draft predictions

Field Yates, ESPN: TE Colston Loveland, Michigan

Yates: "One of the most mind-blowing stats that has come up in my draft prep: The Colts have not had a tight end reach 500 receiving yards since Eric Ebron did so in 2018. That streak would end in a hurry if they take Loveland, though. He is not far behind Warren in my rankings (No. 11), as he's a smooth route runner with good hands. As Indianapolis sorts through its long-term quarterback situation, having more dependable middle-of-the-field playmakers would go a long way in getting the passing game on track.

Vinnie Iyer, Sporting News: TE Tyler Warren, Penn State

Iyer: "The Colts have been tied to Warren as a needed versatile receiver for Shane Steichen's offense, and he can be a big asset for either Daniel Jones or Anthony Richardson."

Lance Zierlein, NFL.com: TE Coltson Loveland, Michigan (projected trade-up)

Zierlein: "The Colts don't risk missing out on the dynamic tight end out of Michigan, moving into the top 10 to secure his services. Loveland can become a highly targeted option for whomever ends up starting at quarterback."

Pete Prisco, CBS Sports: TE Tyler Warren, Penn State

Prisco: "He is the best all-round tight end in the class. The Colts lack a dominant tight end and Warren will give them that. He's also a good blocker, which matters with Jonathan Taylor as the focal point of the offense."

Albert Breer, Sports Illustrated: TE Colston Loveland, Michigan

Breer: "I think Loveland could easily go ahead of Warren. The Michigan tight end is a fit for the Shanahan family of offenses, and is the more polished route runner and better athlete of the two. In Indy, he will easily fit into a balanced skill group that already has Jonathan Taylor, Michael Pittman Jr., Alec Pierce and Josh Downs. Now, if they can just get the quarterback right …"

Daniel Jeremiah, NFL.com: EDGE Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

Jeremiah: "Colts GM Chris Ballard has always placed a premium on athletic traits, and Stewart offers those in a big way. This feels very similar to the selection of Kwity Paye when he was coming out of college in 2021. Indianapolis drafts an edge rusher in the first round for the second year in a row (Laiatu Latu in 2024) after losing Dayo Odeyingbo in free agency."
