Why Justin Bieber Didn't Attend Met Gala 2025 With Hailey Bieber
Vera Wang’s future is bright at the 2025 Met Gala.
The fashion designer attended the Metropolitan Museum of Art's annual Costume Institute Benefit in New York City May 5—co-chaired this year by Colman Domingo, A$AP Rocky, Lewis Hamilton, Pharrell Williams and Vogue’s Anna Wintour—in a red carpet look that blocked out the haters.
The 75-year-old attended her third consecutive Met Gala in a feather-covered white dress with a plunging neckline. She also debuted a new hairdo, swapping her signature long hair for a shoulder-length chop with fringe bangs. She completed her stealth look with a pair of square-framed sunglasses.
And while Vera has certainly established herself as a staple in the fashion world, she has made it a point to address the oft-discussed topic of her age.
“I’m confronted with a bit of a moment now where so much has been said about my aging,” she told Elle in 2023. “I just hope that it doesn’t supersede my work. It brings up the issue of ageism, and I don’t want to be pigeonholed. We pigeonhole women that are pregnant, small, tall, athletic.”
She added, “Authenticity means so much to me. I have to be honest: my Asian girlfriends are anywhere from the age of 50 all the way up to 75 and they all look pretty amazing. For a lot of them, I don’t think it’s magic potions or going off to clinics in Switzerland, or whatever is the rage out there.”
And though society tends to be obsessed with looking younger, Vera has focused on excelling at her work.

“I was never really obsessed with aging,” she continued. “I can’t speak for younger generations, but things that exist now did not exist 50 or 60 years ago. There was no such thing as Botox. I’ve always focused on work. Work was my lifeline that kept me feeling relevant and challenged me over the years.”
