WWE Superstars always have the risk of getting injured in the squared circle, and a number of names are still out of action. While some stars are lucky enough to get sidelined with just minor injuries, some have had the hard luck of sustaining career-threatening injuries in the ring as well.

While the risks are way more than the rewards, WWE superstars are always ready to give their 100% between the ropes. Currently, a number of superstars have been sidelined with an injury. Some of them have been medically cleared to compete, while some have not been cleared, and most of them are still spending time in rehab. Let’s check out a few names who have been medically cleared and a few who have not.

Big E suffered a brutal injury back in March 2022 during a tag team match on SmackDown, leading to fractures to his C1 and C6 vertebrae. Despite avoiding spinal surgery, his C1 vertebra hasn’t healed properly, which has led to doctors suggesting him to stay away from any in-ring action.

With his injury being life-threatening, doctors have still not given the clearance to compete in the ring, and fans have nearly lost hope of Big E’s return as well. However, with the hope of a miracle, the former World Champion might return to the ring someday.

#3. Medically Cleared – Corey Graves

Corey Graves had announced his retirement after severe concussion issues forced him out of the ring back in 2014. However, a couple of years ago, the WWE commentator received his long-awaited medical clearance, marking one of the most emotional comebacks in modern history.

While Graves is allowed to compete in the ring, he enjoys his commentary role more for now. However, it would be interesting to see if Graves decides to lace up his boots once again in the future.

#2. Not Medically Cleared – Sami Zayn

Sami Zayn was recently declared not medically cleared to compete following an on-screen attack by the MFT faction on SmackDown. Michael Cole officially shares the update, stating that Zayn is out of in-ring action until further evaluation.

WWE hasn’t disclosed the specific nature or extent of his injury, but the former Intercontinental Champion’s injury doesn’t seem to be a big threat to his career. A minor injury could get him cleared to compete in a few weeks, making him available for in-ring action once again.

#1. Medically Cleared – Robert Roode

Robert Roode spent over a year recovering from neck fusion surgeries at the C4-C5 levels, which sidelined him from WWE programming. However, in February 2024, he was officially medically cleared to wrestle again. While Roode is allowed to wrestle, the star seemingly doesn’t have any plans to return to action anytime soon.

Instead, Roode has transitioned into a full-time backstage producer role for the company and has been doing a brilliant job behind the scenes. With his career in the production team doing wonders, fans will have to wait and see if Roode decides to get back in the squared circle in the future.
