15 Poor Halloween Costumes That Deserve an Instant Return to Spirit

Halloween is the time to let our creativity and inner child shine, going out to parties as adults, trick or treating as children, and do it all dressed in the strangest outfits. Said outfits are often references to some show or popular character from pop culture media, so the reference can be enjoyed by all.

Just as you might expect, not all outfits are created equally. Not all of us have the gift of creativity after all, and yet, how bad some creations turn out is surprising. Due to this, we’ve gathered some of the worst offenders we’ve found online.

Mike Who?

As popular as Monsters Inc. may be, this Mike does not belong on the front cover of any magazine. At least the character is recognizable.

Patrick Strut

As fashionable as you may try to look, runway Patrick is never going to be a thing. The pink tone is spot on, though.

Monkey Business

We can be thankful this person chose the most humanoid character from the Lion King’s ensemble. The pumpkins as part of the staff elevates the look.

Freedom For Dobby

Few things are as nightmare inducing as a house elf, and one of them is someone dressed as one of them for Halloween.

Unblinking Marge

This has to be one of the most cursed attempts at a Simpsons costume, which at the same time succeeds in what it’s trying to do.

Five Nights Nowhere

Chica isn’t exactly the most known character from Five Nights At Freddy’s, but it might be a close second. That is the only saving grace of this fit.

Smurf

This may need a few more coats of paint before the look is actually completed. In all honesty, going for a non-blue Smurf would’ve been a better call.

We Have R2D2 At Home

Just like adding arms to birds is quite funny, adding limbs to R2D2 can be so too. Somehow, the result here is just sad.

Pika Break

This gets to the realm of so bad it’s good, particularly the deadpan look and the cig in hand. Pikachu never needed a break more than he does now.

Straight Out Of The Sewer

This is as bad as an outfit can look while still giving away the character it’s meant to be. And it will haunt out nightmares forever more.

Flared On

As Pokemon fans, we can certainly say that this was an attempt at being a Pokemon. A failed attempt at that.

Sailor Man

Dressing up as Sailor Moon while being a grown man has become a bit of a fashion statement as of late. To each their own.

Stranger Fits

If you’re already sporting the shaved head style, then you might as well represent a character that shares that characteristic. Eleven from Stranger Things clearly needed some more work so people could tell this guy was her, hence the Eggo box.

A Real Monster

We can’t say that there’s anything wrong with the outfit in particular, beyond it leaving the character somewhat slim. The issue is that it only works on this specific position.

Just A Shirt

You can use your wide frame to aid you in your costume all you like, but the effort of just wearing a shirt isn’t enough. We get the idea, it’s missing a broken down wall or something.
