How Fame Changed Everything for 1000-Lb. Sisters Star Tammy Slaton

Tammy Slaton and Andrea Dalton are reminiscing on their engagement.

It’s been over a year since the 1,000-Lb Sisters star announced that Dalton had proposed—and now the couple is finally detailing the moment it all happened.

Showing off her amber-colored rock, Slaton shared in a clip posted to TLC’s Instagram on July 21, “I love my ring.”

Dalton, meanwhile, gave some some insight on the unique look, explaining, “She loves all those colors, so I was like, ‘Yeah, this is perfect.’”

As for how she proposed, she recalled the “great” moment she popped the question, although it wasn’t without its challenges.

“I couldn’t get down on one knee all the way,” she recalled, “but hey, you know, she liked it.”

The way Slaton remembers it, the milestone moment was “amazing” and she didn’t care whether or not her fiancée got down on one knee.

“Still was very meaningful for me,” the 39-year-old mused, turning toward her future spouse. “You took me horseback riding and all the things I like. It was perfect.”

When the TLC star first announced her engagement to Dalton in June 2025, she didn’t divulge many details, opting instead to slyly reference the proposal in a podcast.

“Me and my fiancée,” Slaton slipped in during an episode of the A Creative Chaos podcast. “We just kind of chill at home.”

Their engagement news came two months after the couple revealed their romance on an April 2025 episode of 1,000-Lb Sisters, which marked Slaton’s first relationship since the death of her late husband Caleb Willingham in 2023.

Moving forward, Slaton said she is excited to continue building her life with Dalton, sharing, “Every day is a new adventure with her so I’m just looking forward to tomorrow and the next day and living life with her and Kamala, our cat.”
