The internet is celebrating one of their favorite power couples.

YouTuber Markiplier—best known for his "Let's Play" videos of indie horror games—confirmed that he and longtime girlfriend Amy Nelson got married on Sept. 20, with the couple waiting a few weeks before officially sharing the news.

“10 years and counting,” Markiplier (real name Mark Fischbach) posted to Instagram Oct. 7. “Going to go for the world record or die trying.”

Amy also shared a sweet tribute to her new husband, writing in her Oct. 7 Instagram post, “The whole point is never clearer than when I’m with you.”

The couple also gave their fans a peek into their nuptials, with Amy posting several snaps that showed the 31-year-old donning a bell-sleeved wedding gown with a lace design and a bow in the back. Markiplier—who is the 16th highest paid content creator, according to Forbes—also looked dapper for the big day, wearing a white tuxedo jacket over a white shirt and black pants. The 36-year-old completed his look with a red bowtie and a boutonnière.

And fans were overjoyed for Amy and Markiplier, who’s been creating YouTube content since 2012 and has almost 38 million subscribers on the platform.

“Markiplier getting married oh the world is healing,” one fan wrote in the comments. Another enthusiastically added, “BEEN HERE SINCE 2014 AND NOW I’M SEEING YOU GET MARRIED?? HOLY HELL CONGRATS!!”

One person even shared that the news made her emotional, writing, “Didn’t think 20 year old me would be openly weeping about markiplier just like 12 year old me used to but here we are. i’m so happy such a power couple.”

And as one fan summed up, “MOM AND DAD GOT MARRIED!?!?!?!”

Markiplier and Amy originally connected on Tinder when he went back to his hometown of Cincinnati—where Amy is also from.

“We met, but we didn’t start dating there,” he explained on a 2022 episode of the Impaulsive Podcast, noting that the two reconnected sometime later when she was in Los Angeles. “She was out here during a time when I was having a bad year and so that’s how we met.”

And the Internet personality has been extremely grateful for Amy’s presence in his life, especially because she’s always there to support him however she can, like she did with his 2019 interactive movie A Heist with Markiplier.

“The secret recipe was actually my girlfriend Amy,” he gushed on Late Night With Seth Meyers at the time. “She was behind the camera watching every single shot, making sure it was good. I trusted her.”

He added, “I’m very lucky to have her.”
