Woman finds the tiniest black kitten next to a 7-11 dumpster, brings him home, and now has to deal with his crimes of attempted escape via shoe and purring in her cheek

    "Found by a 7-11 dumpster"

When the cat distribution system gifts you with a cat, you never know which kind of kitty you are going to be blessed with. Of course, no matter what, you say thank you to whatever greater being out there decided to gift you said cat, but you also, in your heart of hearts, hope that you won't end up with one of the criminals. We know you know what we are talking about. Kittens. Kittens are the most dangerous criminals of all. And that is not because cats commit fewer crimes as they grow older, it's because when a kitten commits a crime, its cuteness overpowers you every single time, and you can never say anything to them about it.

Mother hears sweet sound coming from littered boxes after dropping son off at school, discovers 7 abandoned adorable kittens to turn from trash into treasure

Cats can be found in the strangest of places. We found our first cat behind a dumpster on our way back from the movie theater, where she was looking for something to eat. We've written stories about dogs finding kittens on abandoned hiking trails, hiding in sheds in the backyard, but by far, the saddest place to find a cat is in the trash. We don't want to know what could pawssibly be going through people's heads when they would do such a thing, but it happens more often than you think. Most times, they are kittens that are too young to be separated from their meowther (if you do find a kitten like this, you should look up The Kitten Lady on YouTube, she many videos on caring for pre-natal kittens).

Stray cat shows up at woman's door, asking to be adopted, after 2 weeks of no one coming to take him, she finally decides to give him the warm home he deserves

"Nobody ever tried to claim him..."

We think that at this point, it is safe to say that it is a fact that cats adopt humans and not the other way around. It is certainly accepted as a fact in the cat community. The outside world still gets surprised by this. People who don't know cats are surprised when cats choose to adopt them out of nowhere, but it does happen - all the time. People who hate cats get adopted by cats, people who have never wanted cats get adopted by them. It happens every day, to the point that sometimes you wonder if cats are only adopting people who dislike them. When is it going to be our chance?

A man's struggle between his desire to help a neglected cat and his moral code, as a persistent feline refuses to take no for an answer and keeps returning to his home

"Initially we thought he was a stray because he would come in and refuse to leave, up to the point he once nipped me for trying to pick him up and take him outside."

We often remark on here about how tough cat adoptions or rescues can be. But with this one we seem to be facing a problem that is of a completely opposing nature to all those other stories. This is the story of a cat who apparently did not enjoy his home life all too much and so went out looking for something better. Ltitie did the cat know that something better would be just a few doors down from its original home in the form of our protagonist's house.

Caring couple adopt the shy and skittish abandoned cat momma that no one wanted after 6 long months at the shelter and some seriously scary scars from her past

"If you're thinking of rescuing the cat that nobody wants, I say do it! It's amazing what a little extra love can do"

This is one of those stories that pretty much embody the spirit of going to your local shelter to adopt a cute cat child to illuminate your life. Often people think that going to the shelter is all about finding your soul cat, the feline who locks eyes with you from across the room and draws you in with their tiny meow.

Pitbull finds an abandoned kitten and adopts her like she was his own pup, turning the dog-filled family into a feline household

'I'm amazed how gentle and small he makes himself around her'

We usually think of adoption as something humans do - we see a lonely paw, a pair of big eyes, and suddenly we can't imagine life without them. But the truth is, adoption is a feeling that goes beyond us. Our pets often show us that same instinct, that same pawtective love. Sometimes a dog takes one look at a tiny kitten and decides: "Mine". Other times, a cat welcomes a stray pup into their cuddle pile. It's a reminder that love, care, and companionship aren't just human traits - they're universal, flowing between species as naturally as wagging tails and purring floofs.
