Atlanta, GA -
Young Thug has hit back after Atlanta prosecutors attempted to revoke his probation following controversial comments he made on social media.
In a motion filed in court on Wednesday (April 2), the Fulton County District Attorney’s Office argued to have Thugger sent back behind bars over claims he leveled threats at a police detective.
The rapper is currently serving 15 years’ probation as a result of a plea deal he agreed in the RICO case against him and his YSL crew last year.
Prosecutors are now seeking to revoke his probation, claiming his “continued presence in the community under probationary supervision presents a clear and present danger to public safety and undermines the rule of law.”
Thug is accused of “escalating threats and witness intimidation” regarding a since-deleted social media post about Fulton County Investigator Marissa Viverito, who is currently in the process of testifying in a sprawling gang murder preliminary hearing linked to Lil Baby.
Alongside a photo of Viverto, he wrote: “Biggest liar in the DA office.”
According to the filing, Thug’s post led to “direct threats to Investigator Viverito and her family.”
It is further alleged that as a result of Thug’s social media activity, the addresses of her and her parents were distributed online, with threats also being aimed at District Attorny Fani Willis.

His attorney Brian Steel also said in a statement: “This motion is baseless. While intimidation and threats of violence are never appropriate, Jeffery Williams has done nothing wrong. We look forward to seeking a dismissal of this petition.”
If Thug’s probation is revoked by the court, he may be ordered to serve a lengthy prison sentence.
A hearing over the filing has yet to be scheduled.
