"All love SD" - Jackson Merrill reflects on 2025 season

Making his big league debut in March 2024, Jackson Merrill went on to enjoy a fantastic rookie season, finishing second in voting for the NL Rookie of the Year award behind Pittsburgh Pirates ace Paul Skenes.

The youngster continued to be as reliable as ever for the Padres in 2025, both at the plate and in the outfield. Despite his best efforts, however, the season turned out to be a bit of a mixed bag for San Diego. Though they enjoyed a solid regular season and made it to the playoffs, they failed to win their division, and ended up bowing out of the postseason in the first round.

Soon after the Padres were eliminated, Jackson Merrill took to Instagram to reflect on the campaign.
