Nobody Wants This's Adam Brody had Leighton Meester by his side at the 2025 Emmys Sept. 14, where he is nominated for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for the Netflix series.
How to Watch the 2025 Emmys and Live From E! Red Carpet
One secret Leighton Meester and Adam Brody will always tell?
How much they love celebrating each other’s milestones. That’s why the Gossip Girl star was by Adam’s side at the 2025 Emmy Awards, where he was nominated for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy series for his work in Nobody Wants This.
For their Sept. 14 date night at the Peacock Theater in Los Angeles, Leighton stepped onto the red carpet in a stunning pink Prada look paired with Jared Atelier natural diamonds, while The OC star complemented his wife of 11 years in a powder blue tux with a ruffled shirt. (See all the celebrity red carpet fashion here.)
And as Leighton celebrates Adam—who is nominated in the category alongside Seth Rogen, Jeremy Allen White, Martin Short and Jason Segel—at the Nate Bargatze-hosted ceremony, she’s also marking the milestone with her new costars.
After all, she is joining the cast of Nobody Wants This—also nominated at the Emmys for Best Comedy Series, Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series for Kristen Bell and more—for season two, which debuts Oct. 23.
In the new installment, Leighton—mom to daughter Arlo, 10, and a 5-year-old son with Adam—will appear as Abby, the childhood nemesis of Kristin’s Joanne.
“We came up with such a fun character,” the show’s creator Erin Foster told E! News in May. “We went to Adam first, like, ‘What do you think of this idea?’ He was like, ‘I think that she would be so great at it. Do it. Ask her.’ And she was so game and so excited. She is an underrated comedian.”

Adam is quite used to sharing the screen with his wife—they’ve costarred in The Oranges, Life Partners, Single Parents and most recently Wild River—but the Ready or Not star still relishes every time they both have a space on the call sheet.
“I was mostly a passenger in my scenes with her—a lucky bystander,” Brody recently teased to Deadline of their season two moments together. “And it’s always a thrill and a joy to watch her work.”
"When family visits set in general, it’s nice—your two worlds merge and you know all these people from your work life and people’s kids visit and spouses,” he continued, “And it’s nice even without acting but then to act with all these people that she’s gotten to know very well—some before, but certainly throughout the last couple years making this show, she’s really gotten to know everyone. So, it was a very warm environment.”
And fans will get to see that camaraderie between the Nobody Wants This cast come to life at the Emmys. Keep reading for all the couples who turned dressed up and stepped out at TV’s biggest night.
