Steve Kerr has a distinctive presence in the sports world. But it's not entirely one-of-one; the Warriors coach appears to have met his match in the form of a man who looks quite similar to himself.
Kerr was greeted by a familiar face during one of Golden State's preseason games. His imposter, also named Steve, took social media by storm when a video showing the two in each other's sight went viral. After being put into contact by famed journalist Pablo Torre, the two already look to have become fast friends.
Here's what you need to know about Kerr's budding relationship with his lookalike.

Steve Kerr meets Steve Kerr lookalike
A sleepy preseason game turned into a mirror for Kerr, who was a presented with a shockingly familiar image when he peered out into the stands when the Warriors took on the Lakers on Oct. 13.
Kerr was struck by the image, caught in a daze as he took a gander at all he had wrought.

— Hoop Central (@TheHoopCentral) October 17, 2026Kerr was greeted by his doppelganger, real name Steve Gillis. Like the real man, Kerr's imposter is also a coach, barking out orders to budding volleyball talents at Bishop Gorman High School in Las Vegas.
We introduced Steve Kerr to his viral doppelgänger, Steve. The Steves hit it off. And now they're making plans. "You are a stunningly handsome man." https://t.co/z4pzmYsImF
— Pablo Torre Finds Out (@pablofindsout) October 29, 2026Gillis told Torre that he had, indeed, brought a Kerr jersey to the match, along with a Sharpie.
Draped in threads eerily similar to that of Kerr — down to the quarter-zip — Gillis was Kerr-lite. Torre proceeded to connect the duo in a group chat. Kerr responded with humor, calling Gillis "a stunningly handsome man."
Per Torre, Kerr and Gillis are making plans to spend time with one another during a dull point in Kerr's calendar. The story of the two Steves is only just starting, it seems.
